Electric Infrared Ovens - Continuous and Batch

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Vastex infrared conveyor ovens use medium-wavelength heaters, digital PID temperature control accurate to +/- 1°F (+/- 0.5°C), adjustable heater height, and adjustable belt speed to dry, cure, and preheat a wide range of products. Capacity can be expanded by adding modular heating chambers. Below are some of the most common applications.

COATINGS & CURING

  • Coatings: Dry and cure liquid coatings on parts, sheet, and fabric.
  • Powder coating: Gel and cure powder finishes for a durable, even surface.
  • Melt powder coating: Melt and flow powder into a continuous coating.
  • Plastisol: Gel and cure plastisol inks and coatings.
  • Silicone coating (curing): Cure silicone coatings on fabrics, films, and other materials.
  • Cure printing on glass, metal, plastics, rubber, and textiles: Set inks and decoration on a wide range of surfaces.
  • Shrink coating around cable: Heat protective coatings onto cable so they shrink and bond in place.

LAMINATING, FILMS & PACKAGING

  • Adhesive lamination: Activate and set adhesives when bonding layers.
  • Dry adhesive lamination: Drive off water or solvents before layers are joined.
  • Laminate: Heat and bond multi-layer materials.
  • Converting: Dry, cure, or heat materials during converting operations.
  • Film: Heat, dry, or treat plastic and other films, with downdraft exhaust options that hold lightweight material in place.
  • Foil: Dry or cure coatings and adhesives on foil.
  • Flexible packaging: Dry inks, coatings, and adhesives used in packaging films.
  • Paper and pulp: Dry and cure coated or treated paper products.

TEXTILES & FABRICS

  • Textiles: Dry, cure, and heat-set finishes and treatments, with belt widths up to 78 in.
  • Industrial fabrics: Cure coatings and treatments on heavy-duty and technical fabrics.
  • Narrow fabrics: Process ribbons, webbing, and tapes.
  • Coated fabrics: Dry and cure coatings on fabric.
  • Nonwovens: Bond, dry, and cure nonwoven materials.
  • Carpets: Dry and cure backings and coatings.
  • Wall coverings: Dry and cure inks and coatings on wall covering materials.
  • Filter media and filters: Cure resins and bonding agents used in filter production.

PRINTING & GRAPHICS

  • Printing: Dry and cure printed materials on a conveyor belt.
  • Flexo and gravure printing: Dry inks and coatings after printing.
  • Inkjet printing: Dry and cure inkjet output so prints can be handled sooner.
  • Graphic arts: Dry and cure specialty inks and coatings on graphic products.

PLASTICS, RUBBER, VINYL & COMPOSITES

  • Plastics/rubber/vinyl: Heat, cure, or treat plastic, rubber, and vinyl parts and sheet.
  • Flooring (vinyl sheet and tile): Gel and cure vinyl flooring products.
  • Composites: Cure resins and pre-impregnated materials.
  • Fiberglass: Cure resins and binders used in fiberglass products.
  • Tubing: Heat, cure, or shrink tubing on a conveyor.

ELECTRONICS, ENERGY & WIRE

  • Electronics: Cure coatings and adhesives used in electronic assemblies.
  • Printed circuit boards (PCBs): Cure inks and coatings on circuit boards.
  • Batteries (anode/cathode): Dry and cure electrode coatings with precise digital temperature control.
  • Wire and cable: Cure coatings and markings on wire and cable.

HEATING PROCESSES

  • Pre-heat: Bring parts or materials up to temperature before the next step.
  • Thermoforming: Pre-heat plastic sheet evenly so it forms cleanly.
  • Soften plastics: Bring plastics to a pliable temperature for shaping.
  • Emboss: Pre-heat materials for embossing and textured finishes.
  • Expand foam: Heat foam materials to expand or cure them.
  • Annealing plastic film: Relieve stress in plastic film through controlled heating.
  • Fuse surfaces: Heat materials so surfaces bond together.

INDUSTRIES

  • Aerospace: Cure coatings and markings on components such as aircraft control panels.
  • Automotive: Dry and cure coatings, adhesives, and components for vehicles.
  • Medical devices: Cure coatings and components, with food-grade and stainless mesh belt options for sanitary applications.
  • Glass: Dry and cure coatings and decoration on glass.
  • Bake/cook foods: Bake or cook food products, with food-grade belt options.
  • Dry tobacco: Dry tobacco products at controlled temperatures.
